If individual traveller want to travel to nepal in his/her own, then no problem they are free to do so. If some foreign broker/company collect the group and run their tour programs around nepal freely without paying taxes, it's not fair and it's of course not acceptable.
One question: am I allowed to do business freely in your country? Even I'm willing to pay taxes, for your information, it is not allowed do any sort of independent business in your country my friend! So just let me know, why should you have any privileges? why???? can anybody of you reply me?
> Hello Nepal Travel who dont give his name,
> We know all that some (not all) TAAN affilated trekking agencies want to be sure that all trekking trourist have to book through their office. Two years ago they where even succesfull installing TRC like a law which never was approved even by the government or parliament and therefore was ILLIGAL.
> it is the bad faith of Nepal that always group of people want to have the right to impose others to paiy them money, this is all what corruption is about.
> For the sake of Nepal stop thinking of tourist as illigals but of that of clients. And some of the clients just want to stick with a a guide or porter guide they know already or was recomended by a friend.
> And they therefore just don't need and want to go throught a trekking agency. What bad about this? Why should it be illigal? Its nonsense and developed countrys like Switzerland, Germany or the States you can walk around with ever you want. So tourist are happy and come again and people in the mountain can earn money.
> So agin I have to insist: See your trekking tourist as guest and clients and they will come back often, which is good for Nepal but stop to see them just a short time prey for some trekking companys taken money for some unwanted or not given service.
> You mentality is bad for you country.

> > This is to illuminate at the time because there may be found such many companies running business without observing legal formalities imposed by the country act, and even not registered with the concerned office authority etc.. Likewise, it has been reported that some companies have been running business whose licenses have already expired and not noticed and punished in charge of the unlawful act. In the same manner, we have seen many examples of so - called trekking / touring agencies operated by individuals & freelancers illegally, and some on commission basis with other agencies by creating their own personal website or by contacting personally.
> > Basically, it is not allowed by the country act, however it has been found in abroad that some foreign tour operators also have been involved in directly operating tours and trekking without any co-operation with local agencies (govt. registered one!) and without paying any tax for the government of concerned country for operating their business.
> > In this way, if one has booked his / her travel, trekking trip with such illegally operated trekking or travel company is subject to encounter great risk or aggravates during his / her course of journey. In order to be secured in such obligations, take the following hints in consideration prior to confirm your journey with any trekking & travel agency.
> > * Has the company registered to government authorities?
> > * Is the company social responsible one or only operating for profit?
> > * Is the company environmentally conscious?
